 L N Mittal

Hats off to L N Mittal.  He has become the #1 Steel Manufacturer by merging with Arcelor. It is a moment that every Indian should be proud of.

What I learnt from L N Mittal from the Arcelor deal is that His forward thinking, his persistence and perservance and never give-up attitude. It is a lesson that every futuristic leader should learn.

It is also a lesson for yours truly also.z

Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna- The Musical Review

Posted by Sri Prasath Venkateswaran on June 24, 2006

Karan Johar

I am currently listening to "Karan Johar's Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna" composed Shankar-Eshaan-Loy.

Apart from their previous musical release this album seems to be a different. The music has been served with Melody, disco and other Musical fundas.

Especialy I liked the first song "Tumse bhi" by Sonu Nigam. The most important thing I liked is the mix up of Male and Female voices and the Backingvocals.

Usually Karan Johar films are knotted with Love. In this movie, he tries to portray three different types of love.

1. Love marriage.

2.Arranged marriage.

3.Couples who gets tied up due to friends and family commitments.

Let us wait and watch whether Karan continues to blockblusting this movie too..

Bear or Crab?

Posted by Sri Prasath Venkateswaran on June 14, 2006

Stock Markets crash continues. Those who have pumped Crores and Crores of Rupees, not able to regain even a single penny what they have invested.

Analysts say that Market is in the “Bear Grip”. But I would suggest analyst to change the phrase as “Crab Grip”, because this downturn continues for the last 1 month, every day the sensex loses not less than 120 points.

I would suggest to stop the stock trading business for a day until the Government and Ministry of Finance comes out with the clear cut policy to crub down the stock market crash.

I would like to requote the same Thirukural to the Finance Minister what he had stated while making his Budget speech in 1997.

“Iyyaralum Eethalum Kaathalum Kaatha vaguthalum

 Valla tharasu”.

President Address on SBI

Posted by Sri Prasath Venkateswaran on June 4, 2006

“When you are inspired by some
great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bounds: Your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction, and you find yourself in a new, great, and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties, and talents become alive, and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be”.

The above said by Maharishi Pathanjali. I liked this When our Hon. President Dr.Abdul Kalam said on the Bicentennial Occasion of SBI

Selvaraghavan’s Pudupettai

Posted by Sri Prasath Venkateswaran on June 3, 2006

"Too Much of anything is good for nothing" is a saying. Selvaraghavan's "Pudupettai" falls into that category. Expectations, delayed release has put this movie in the jungle jingle.

The storyknot is very simple. "Kokki" Kumar(Dhanush) mother is being killed by his father, who is a rowdie. Since Kumar was very much affectionate towards his mother, his father suspects that his son will turn into a convict and he tries to Kumar.

Kumar escapes from his father's custody and comes to Pudupettai and joins the Rowdie Gang. His boss(Balasingh) enjoys supremacy in that area. He encounters with another one Rowdie(Murthy) and Murthy catchhold of Kumar during one encounter.

In the Meanwhile, Kumar fells love with Krishnaveni(Sneha),a Pros. Kumar develops differences with his boss for Krishnaveni. Kumar kills his boss and becomes the dada.

Kokki Kumar earns the power and kills his enemies. His close friend(Dada) invites Kumar to head his sisters marriage. Admired by his friend's sister Selvi(Sonia Agarwal)Kokki Kumar ties the mangal sutra in her sister instead of   handing it to the Groom.

His friend joins Murthy's gang and turns as a approver. Kumar got arrested and due to his political power he comes out of jail. Due to this, he becomes secretary of a consituency. During the Assembly elections, he demands for a MLA seat and due to his adamant stand he is thrown out of the party.

Murthy kills Krishnaveni and takes the child, Selvi deserts Kumar. Kumar kills Murthy(This is the greatest Comedy Scene). Atlast the opposition party captures power and Kumar follows Murthys footprints.

The Biggest Strength of this movie is story, weakness is the Screenplay. Yuvanshankarraja music and background score is superb. But Editing is good, not up to the mark. Arvind Krishna has done a remarkable job in his photography.

In my verdict, This movie is not upto Selvaraghavan's Standards
